WELCOME to Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College, Worcester. Our web site provides information and an insight into our college for prospective students and parents. The web site will allow you to explore the achievements of our students and the diversity in their experiences while at our college. 

We are a Catholic college committed to 'Gospel Values and Personal Achievement. We believe that our college should reflect the values and practice of a good Catholic home. However we are inclusive and many of our students are from other Christian and World Faiths. We believe in the uniqueness of each student and firmly believe that each child wants to be successful at school.

We are very proud of our students' academic achievements. The college has been presented with the “School Achievement Award” by the DfES for substantial improvements in the results achieved by our students between 1997 and 2001. This year students and staff achieved their greatest success. 98% of students achieved 5 or more higher level GCSE passes and 72% achieved 5+ A*-C grades including English and Mathematics. 75% of students achieved 10+ A*-C GCSE equivalent grades.

In 2011 we were awarded by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust three coveted awards for:

* One of the top 5 specialist schools and academies achieving the greatest improvement in 5+ A*-C including English and mathematics

* One of the top 5 improved specialist schools and academies in science subjects

* One of the top 5 specialist schools and academies achieving the greatest improvement across all measures ( includes English, mathematics, science and modern foreign languages ).

We have been awarded Arts Mark Gold, Leading Aspects Awards for the appreciation of other cultures through Modern Foreign Languages and the development of citizenship through Faith and liturgy, two Awards for All for Girls’ Rugby and martial arts and the FA Charter for Schools. We are a Worcester Wolves Basket-ball academy and a centre recognised for development of community rugby by the Rugby Football Union. We are an Investor in People college and an Accredited Test Centre for the European Computer Driving Licence. We have been awarded the Geographical Association Geography Mark and the BECTA ICT Kitemark. The "Healthy School Status" acknowledges the high quality of care, support and guidance provided for our students. 

We are a Learn 2 Journey School. This status reflects the importance we place on ensuring students know how they can become successful learners. We are an approved Mentoring Befriending school which recognise the excellence in out transition programme for mentoring students  transfering into our college from primary schools.
