College Fund

Each year we ask parents to make a contribution to the College Fund.  The College Fund provides additional spending for resources which the college cannot fund from the budget we receive from the Government through the Local Authority that is limited in comparison to that of other local authorities.

In the forthcoming year we wish to carry out further enhancement to the playground facilities as well as enhancing ICT across the curriculum and college sporting facilities.  We will need in the near future to look at the purchase of new minibuses and additional computers.  Funding for ICT has been slashed in the last two years.

The College Fund contribution is set at £21 per child or £27 for a family contribution if more than one child is at the college.  If you wish to make a contribution, please complete the attached form and return it with your contribution for the 2012/2013 Academic Year.  Cheques should be made payable to Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College and sent to the College Office.  We ask parents to make a Gift Aid Declaration if they are a taxpayer and the college can reclaim income tax on the donation.  As a result, £21 gifted to the College becomes £26.25 and £27 becomes £33.75.  The Gift Aid repayments from the Inland Revenue are an important source of additional funding.

I look forward to your support and can assure you that your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Sean Devlin
