COVID update Jan 2022

26 January 2022

Dear Parent

As you are aware, the Government has announced an end to plan B covid restrictions from Thursday 27 January. I have considered this guidance carefully and given the context of our college, I will be continuing to ask students and staff to wear face masks in corridors and communal areas for the remainder of this half term.

Case rates in Worcester are currently running at 1177 cases per 100,000 people compared to 689 cases per 100,000 people at the end of last term. Given that I have responsibility for the health and safety of our staff and students, I believe that the wearing of face masks still has a role to play.

Like other schools, we are also experiencing significant staff absences due to covid and I want to minimise disruption to learning by maintaining certain measures such as the wearing of face masks. If your child is currently exempt from wearing a face mask for medical reasons, they will continue to be so. Students who use school buses will need to continue to wear face masks on their journey to and from school.

Please be assured that we will keep this situation under regular review and thank you in advance for your support and understanding.

Yours sincerely

Greg McClarey
