We would like to hold a non-uniform day on Friday 8th June 2018 to mark the anniversary of the death of one of our students, James O’Mara. Sadly, James died last year very suddenly from a rare form of Leukaemia, and as a school community we would like to remember James whilst raising some money towards the family’s chosen charities.
Pupils who dress in their own smart and modest clothes pay a minimum of £1 for the privilege. The money raised will be shared equally between Birmingham Children’s hospital and Bloodwise. Year 11 students will have to wear school uniform as they have at least one GCSE examination on this day but I would encourage them to still make a donation to this very worthwhile cause
I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight the ongoing importance of blood, stem cell and bone marrow donation in the fight against blood cancer. More information can be found at the following websites;
