Year 11 Welcome Back Letter September 2018

September 17th 2018

Dear Parent,

I hope that you have had a wonderful summer break and have had the chance to relax and enjoy quality family time. I am pleased to be able to report that students are continuing to make excellent progress to their GCSE courses and I trust that they are now settled into classes.

I cannot emphasise enough that the need for constant revision of new learning is crucial to ensure success in the 2019 exam series. There are many resources available within college and online that students should be using to their advantage. Many individual subject teachers and areas have their own subject specific learning tools and websites. Please encourage your child to utilise as many of these resources as often as possible and please note the revision calendar which will be updated as the year progresses.

I would like to encourage all students to monopolise on time here at college, the need for regular attendance as we move through this important stage of academic life is imperative and will give them full advantage. Low attendance will have an impact on your child’s work load and ultimately in their examination results in 2019.

Regarding attendance I would like to send congratulations to Nathan Taitt who won the attendance raffle last term and chose a Kindle Fire.

I am looking forward to working with all students in the year group and supporting them through to their GCSE’s which will start Monday 13th May 2019 culminating on Friday 21st June. Should your child at any stage need help or advice then please encourage them to ask; we aim to help and direct as much as is possible.

I am very impressed with the year group with their very smart attitude towards their uniform and I hope that this mature attention to their appearance continues throughout the year they make me proud to be their Head of Year and I would like this to continue.

I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and please remember if you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the college.

Looking forward to working with you,

Mr Ebbage – Head of Year 11
