5th May 2021
I am writing to confirm that our Year 11 students last day in college will be Friday 21st May. Students will have completed all their assessments by Friday 14th May and staff will then be undertaking the task of compiling student evidence, moderating the marking of these and then determining student grades. This is a major undertaking and one that I want to ensure staff have sufficient time to complete, hence the decision for students to finish on Friday 21st May.
As you know students’ final assessments window begins on Friday 7th May and finishes on Friday 14th May. Students still have control and agency over their grades, and it is very pleasing to note the positive manner in which they are engaging in lessons. The timetable for these assessments and the topics being covered can be found here www.blessededward.co.uk/students/revision-year-11/
From the week beginning the 24th May the college will be running subject specific bridging sessions for students who wish to pursue subjects at A Level. These will take place online and a schedule will be shared with parents and students shortly.
We will be sending out further information about this summer’s grading process to parents over the course of the next couple of weeks and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
