The Bungalow

Dear Parents and friends of our college,

In these challenging times, we are acutely aware of the financial strains affecting our schools, especially here in Worcestershire. The issue of unfair funding persists, with neighbouring schools receiving significantly more funding per student. Since the onset of the pandemic, many of our students have faced difficulties in re-engaging with school, often due to heightened anxiety or their unique additional needs. At Blessed Edwards, we firmly believe in the right to education for all, recognising that traditional school settings may not suit everyone. To address this, we have envisioned transforming a former caretaker’s bungalow on our school site into a safe and nurturing space for students who struggle to attend school regularly.

Not only will this bungalow serve as an alternative learning environment, but it will also offer invaluable support and guidance to parents navigating the challenges of their children’s teenage years. However, we face a significant obstacle: the lack of funds to turn this vision into reality.

This is where we need your help. We are reaching out to our community for donations and support from individuals with specific skills. Whether you’re a painter, decorator, kitchen fitter, plumber, electrician, gardener, or landscaper, your expertise can make a meaningful difference. Your contribution, whether through monetary donations or volunteering your time and skills, will directly impact the lives of our students and their families.

If you are able to assist or know someone who might be interested, please reach out to us at fundraising@blessededward.co.uk. Every bit of support, no matter how small, brings us closer to realising our vision for the bungalow and enhancing the educational opportunities for our students.

Thank you for taking the time to consider our plea. If you are unable to contribute directly, please help us by spreading the word to others who may be in a position to help.

With gratitude,
The Bungalow Team
