Knowledge organisers and retrievers
To use CGP knowledge organizers, read and learn the information on a specific topic from the organizer, then test your memory using the matching Knowledge Retriever by filling in the blanks. For best results, repeat the process and use the second, more difficult test in the retriever. You can also supplement this with other methods like flashcards, recreating the organizer from memory, or having someone test you.

Step-by-step guide
1. Learn: Choose a topic from the Knowledge Organizer and read through it to memorize the key facts, diagrams, and summaries.
2. Test yourself (First time): Turn to the corresponding page in the Knowledge Retriever and fill in the blanks from memory. Use the organizer to check your answers.
3. Test yourself (Second time): For secondary materials, try the second test on the same topic, which has more missing information. Re-check your answers and use the organizer to fill in any gaps in your knowledge.
4. Use other methods:

- Look, cover, write, check: Write down key words and definitions, then cover them and try to write them down from memory.
- Recreate the organizer: On a blank piece of paper, try to recreate the organizer’s layout and content from memory.
- Ask for a quiz: Have a family member or friend test you on the material.
- Create flashcards: Make flashcards for key vocabulary or facts.
- Space out your revision: Revisit the material over time to improve long-term retention. CGP recommends testing yourself a day later, and then again a week or more later.
